Shaanxi has one of the "most mysterious" temples, which is hidden on a cliff and has the largest bronze Buddha in southern Shaanxi. This temple is located in Luoyang County, Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, and is a very peculiar tourist attraction. When visitors come here, they will see a very magical ancient temple, which is built on a cliff next to the Jialing River and hidden in two naturally formed karst caves. Most of the temple is built in the cave of the Daxiong Treasure Hall, but this temple is not visible. This cave has been turned into a temple for the Buddha to worship, and is known as the first attraction of Lyoyang, which is Lingam Temple. Lingyan Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of thousands of years.
It is located only 7 miles away from the county seat of Luoyang, and its location is very special, built on the cliff of Yuwen Mountainside, so it is called the only "ancient cave temple" in Shaanxi. However, there are no monks left in Lingyan Temple now. When you come to the Yuwen Mountainside, facing the direction of the Jialing River, you will see two large caves, one in front and one behind, very close to each other. There was a "Golden Turtle" in the previous cave, so it was called "Golden Turtle Cave". In the latter cave, there is a "sleeping Buddha", after the ancient temple is completed, a lot of stone Arhats are carved again, so it is called "Arhat Cave".
Most tourists have visited many temples, but this is the first time that they have participated in the worship in the caves. Now this place has become a museum of ancient karst caves, and what makes tourists happy is that after coming here, they can see ancient buildings and peculiar cave scenery. After entering Lingyan Temple, continue to the temple gate, you need to go through two zigzag detours, and in the middle, you need to pass through the "Medicine King Cave" dedicated to the medicine king Sun Simiao, and then you can reach the temple gate. When you arrive at the scenic spot, you can see the office building of the museum. Moving on, you will see the very eye-catching "Heavenly King Palace" three big characters, and the four heavenly kings are distributed on the left and right. The first thing visitors see is the first cave, the "Golden Turtle Cave".
When visitors stand outside the cave, they can't feel the size of the cave, and only when they walk into the cave can they feel its spaciousness, just like entering a fairyland. The ancients built a structure like a courtyard in the cave, and the entrance of the cave was opposite to build a three-storey "Wangjiang Tower", there are side halls on both sides, and there is a circular pool in the middle, and two palm trees are planted in the center of the pool, and the scenery is very unique. It's a pity that all the buildings here are in place, but you can't see the Daxiong Treasure Palace. There are three Buddha shrines under the cave, enshrined three Buddha statues, the Buddha statue in the middle is built in 1511 Virujana Buddha, known as "the first Buddha in southern Shaanxi". If you enter the cave and follow the path all the way forward, you will see the "Golden Turtle" located in the depths of the cave.
