Lingyan Temple, also known as Yaoshui Cliff, is located in the south of Luoyang County, Shaanxi Province, 3.5 kilometers south of the Jialing River on the east bank of the cliff, the temple is composed of two natural caves, by the mountain and the river, the east to the west, was built in the Tang Kaiyuan period (713-741).

        Below the temple is the Jialing River, the west bank of the Jialing River is the original Baocheng Railway, and you can still see freight cars passing through the railway from time to time. It is said that in the past, Lüyang was an important station of Baocheng Railway, and in the past, many passengers from surrounding districts and counties had to come to Lüyang by train, but now the railway has been rerouted, and this line has basically become a freight line. Now Lingyan Temple can still clearly see the Baocheng Railway, which evokes many people's good memories.

       Entering Lingyan Temple, there is a very quiet feeling, ancient buildings, a little slope of the path up the steps, along the hillside spiraling up is very wonderful.

         The first thing you see is a stone carving sculpture exhibition hall, which collects ancient stone carvings found in Luoyang and donated by the people, which are realistic and lifelike.

         Lingyan Temple is known as "the small stele forest in southern Shaanxi", treasures 132 cliff stone carvings since the Han Dynasty, among which the stone carvings with the most historical research value and calligraphy research value are: the Eastern Han Dynasty "Song of the Pavilion" cliff, carved in the five years of Emperor Jianning of the Han Dynasty (172), is a famous treasure of the Han Dynasty.

        The cliff carvings of the Tang Dynasty cliff "Illustration of Famous Places in Yaoshui Cave", "Inscription of the Tang Dynasty", "Ritual Order" and "Lingyan Narrative Farewell" in the Southern Song Dynasty not only have extremely high documentary value, but also have high calligraphy value, she is a treasure house of knowledge to study ancient calligraphy and history.

      What is more amazing is that a stone sticks out a lot, directly covering the whole courtyard, like a natural huge grotto with only half of the side, and there are Buddha statues under the grotto.

        There are also two naturally formed natural caves, one of which has a natural stone turtle called the Stone Turtle Cave. Another grotto is called Luohan Cave also called the back cave, there is a stalactite pillar in the cave, rises from the ground, hard as fine iron, single dome, mysterious. Next to the jade pillar, there is a sleeping Buddha carved in stone, the eyes are closed, the chest is exposed, the side lies in the hole, there is no interest. There is a natural stone pillar in the grotto, which is said to have been hugged by Wu Zetian.

        After passing two stone caves, to the south is an artificial trail, you can climb the mountain along the trail, the local people call the long sky plank road, there is an air suspension bridge in front of the long sky plank road, the suspension bridge bridge deck is glass, it is an air plank road. Continue to walk on the road by the Jialing River.

        The peaks and peaks of Lingyan Temple are wonderful, the scenery is charming, and it is famous for its deep scenery and beautiful spring stones. I think it's a very nice place to visit.
