Located in Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province and Sichuan Province, Baocheng Railway is the first electrified railway in China with a total length of 668.198km from Baoji City in Shaanxi Province in the north to Qinling Mountains in the south through Lüyang to Chengdu in Sichuan Province.
Construction began in July 1952, was completed and opened to traffic in July 1956, and officially opened on January 1, 1958. In June 1958, the electrification transformation began, and in 1975, it was the first to realize electrification among China's national railways.
